The Spina Bifida statistics for Missouri are as follows: About 4.58 babies are affected with this birth defect out of 10,000 babies. The data was collected from the years 1998-2002. In the state of Missouri an estimated 2,708 people have been affected with this medical condition. Around 1.8 million women are in the family way and many are at a risk of delivering babies born with SB. The number of people of Hispanic origin in the state of Missouri is 3 percent of the population, which equals 177,350 people (which has a higher risk of being affected with SB).
There are four Spina Bifida clinics, hospitals and doctors that are located in Missouri, which provide help and assistance to people affected with this health issue. Two SB clinics are located in St. Louis, while one SB clinic is present in Columbia. Kansas City too has one SB clinic which provides aid to patients affected with SB.
