The Spina Bifida statistics for New Jersey are as follows: About 1.97 babies out of 10,000 babies are born with this medical condition. The data for the births were collected during the period of 2001-2005. The data shows an increase in the number of babies who have been born with this birth defect.
Around 1,710 people are residing in the state of New Jersey who is affected with this health issue. An estimated 2.7 million women who are of child bearing age and are at risk of delivering babies affected by SB. The people of Hispanic origin are about 16 percent of the population, which comes to 1.3 million (which has a higher risk of being affected with SB).
There are four Spina Bifida clinics, hospitals and doctors that are located in New Jersey that provide help and assistance to those affected with this medical problem. The SB clinics are present in Summit, Mountainside, West Orange, and Edison.
