The Spina Bifida statistics for Michigan are as follows: Around 4.71 babies are born with this medical condition out of 10,000 births in the state of Michigan. The data was taken during the years of 2001-2005. The data show an increase in the number of babies affected with SB. An estimated 4,712 people having this health issue are living in Michigan.
There are 3.2 million women who are in the family way in the state. Many are at risk of bearing children affected with this birth defect. Around 4 percent of the population, which is 400,140 people, is of Hispanic origin. The state of Michigan has five SB clinics which provide help and assistance to people affected with this medical problem.
