The Spina Bifida statistics for Kentucky are as follows: In the state of Kentucky, 4.12 babies out of 10,000 births are born affected with this birth defect. The data was collected during the period of 2004-2005. Approximately 1,759 people who are affected with this medical condition are residing in Kentucky.
An estimated 1.3 million women who are at risk of delivering babies affected with this health issue are living in Kentucky. Around 2.4 percent of the population (equal to 102,461) is of Hispanic origin (Hispanic people are more susceptible to giving birth to children with SB). There are three Spina Bifida clinics, hospitals and doctors who are present in the state of Kentucky. One SB clinic is located in Louisville while two SB clinics are present in Lexington.
The SB Association of Kentucky is responsible for providing aid and support to patients who have this health problem.
