The Spina Bifida statistics for Massachusetts are as follows: Around 1.61 babies out of 10,000 births are born affected with this birth defect. The data was collected during the period of 2001-2005. The data shows a significant decrease  in the number of births with this medical problem. An estimated 1,046 people are residing in Massachusetts with this health issue.

The state of Massachusetts has around 2.1 million women who are at some risk of delivering babies born with SB. Around 8.6 percent of the population, which equals 550 thousand are of Hispanic origin (Hispanic people are more susceptible to giving birth to children with SB).

There are five Spina Bifida clinics, hospitals and doctors that are in the state that provide help and assistance to patients affected with this health problem. In Boston there are three clinics and one SB clinic is located at Canton, while the other SB clinic is located  at Springfield. The SB Association of Massachusetts is responsible for offering aid and support services to people affected with SB in the state.
